To us, good cacao has lots of nuances of taste, that should transfer to the chocolate. We have access to, and are partners in developing, some of the finest cacao beans in the world. They are the foundation of really good chocolate – which of course cannot be made without good cacao.
Our beans are bought from individual, independent cacao farmers with operations ranging from small plots to large plantations. The selection of the beans is always based on meticulous research and happens through direct contact and cooperation with growers. This provides us with the total control of the quality that we seek, all the way from the bean to bar.
To ensure quality and fair trade, we pay considerably more than farmers are otherwise paid by buyers, including branded “fair trade” prices.
